Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) is a faith-based private University owned by the Episcopal Conference of the Catholic Bishops of Uganda. UMU acknowledges the late Archbishop Kiwanuka as the Father of Catholic higher education in Uganda.
The Academic Registrar, Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) invites prospective applicants from Uganda, East Africa, and around the world for Postgraduate and Undergraduate programs in the current intake. The University currently provides three avenues for admission, including direct entry, entry for diploma holders (both graduate and postgraduate), and admission through the web portal

How do I apply to UMU?
To apply to UMU, visit their official website and check out the admissions section. There, you will find the application form and guidelines on how to apply. What are the application Requirements For the new applicants?
Postgraduate Programmes:
- PhD Applicants – A Master’s degree in a relevant area from a recognized University. A Second Class Honours degree from a Chartered Institution in a recognized field or in exceptional circumstances, professional qualifications in a related field will be required.
- Masters Applicants – In addition to a relevant Bachelor’s Degree Academic Documents, candidates are required to pass the UMU Graduate Admission Test (GAT) and have two years of working experience in the relevant field.
Undergraduate Programmes:
- Bachelors Applicants – A Minimum of Two (2) Principle Passes in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education or an equivalent obtained at the same sitting, or equivalent. Diploma holders, a Credit or 2nd Class are also invited to apply for Bachelor Programmes. For all those applying for Distance Learning, relevant Certified Academic documents are required.
- Diploma Applicants – A Minimum of One (1) Principle Pass in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education or an equivalent in the subjects relevant to the programme applied for, or Certificate holders with a Credit or 2nd Class in related field.
- Certificate Applicants – Candidates should have obtained Five (5) Passes in the Uganda Certificate of Education or an equivalent at one sitting.

- Save your finished work appropriately on your device

- login with correct details
- Go to the specific course unit
- Click on “add submission
- Upload/attach your saved file
- Click on save changes at the bottom
- Then click on “submit”.
- Finally, save your submission
Uganda Martyrs University Application Requirements – Check below:
Entry requirements
- Certificate Programmes: Candidates must have obtained the Uganda Certificate of Education with at least five passes at one sitting or it's equivalent.
- Diploma Programmes: The minimum requirement is a principal pass in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education in the subjects relevant to the programme applied for, or a certificate in the related field.
- Undergraduate Programmes: A minimum of two principal passes in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent. Diploma holders are also invited to apply. For all those applying for distance learning, relevant certificates are required.
- Postgraduate Programmes: At least a Second Class Honours degree from recognized Institutions in a relevant field or in exceptional circumstances, professional qualifications will be required. Candidates are required to pass the UMU Graduate Admission Test (GAT) and have at least two years of working experience in the relevant field.
