Dean’s Message

Welcome to Uganda Martyrs University (UMU), a place where it is good to be. The University is focused on transforming you into an impactful graduate to serve the needs of society and the world at large. Since 1993, UMU has been involved in the lives of many students who have passed through its gates as graduates of positive impact to society. Our duty as Dean of Students office is to have a student graduate with values and skills that make them have positive impact to society.

As Dean of Students office, our obligation is to ensure that students get the best students’ experience right from registration, on campus and through graduation and hence transition into the lifelong UMU Alumni Association. The office oversees the students’ centered functions such as clubs, sports, students leadership under the Uganda Martyrs University Students Union (UMUSU), health services, counselling services, feeding, accommodation among others. Getting involved in the above will enable you get the best students experience at UMU. 

To have the student fully acquainted with life at UMU, we avail you with an Orientation Manual and Information Toolkit to have you navigate through the various services needed as a student of UMU. The Dean of Students and the counterpart Students Affairs Officers in the University campuses will expose you to the world of career opportunities, develop your life and leadership skills. You will undergo continuous mentorship and counselling to enable you navigate the life challenges and build resilience to achieve personal dreams.

I implore you to carefully read the various policy handbooks for UMU especially the Academic Handbook 2026, Students Code of Conduct, Uganda Martyrs University Students (UMUSU) Constitution, Students Events Guidelines. Always make reference to the above and any other University policies while making decisions.
