Faculty of Law
The Bachelor of Laws Programme intends to provide theoretical and practical training for a wide
range of careers in legal practice and related fields. It is tailored towards exposing students to the basic concepts, procedures and reasoning underpinning the Ugandan legal system while acknowledging the importance of International systems as impacting on domestic law development.
A whole range of transferable skills such as dialogue and mediation, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), research, communication skills, legal clinical skills and computing will also be taught.
The course content is designed to cater for students from Uganda and elsewhere in the world and is decidedly sensitive to all legal matters. International students from East Africa and/or with an interest in law in East Africa will also find this program useful.
The Uganda Martyrs University Faculty of Law was accredited 7TH May 2019 and consequently had their first intake of 49 pioneer students in August 2019. The Faculty of Law at Uganda Martyrs University is available across multiple campuses, including Nkozi, Lubaga and Masaka.
