School of Arts & Social Sciences
The School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS) is a multidisciplinary unit of Uganda Martyrs University, offering a wide array of programs across the humanities, social sciences, and related disciplines in five Departments: Development Studies, Governance, Peace and International Studies, Journalism and Mass Communication, Languages, and Ethics and Interdisciplinary Studies.
The main thrust of the School consists in fostering critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility through competence-based learning to prepare well-rounded students for diverse careers and empower them to confidently tackle real-world challenges.
The School aspires to be a leading centre for innovation and excellence in research, teaching, and outreach, dedicated to cultivating a deep sense of belonging, ethical action, and connection within the Uganda Martyrs University community and beyond.
As a research and teaching institution of Uganda Martyrs University, the School addresses local and global challenges through interdisciplinary academic study, practical fieldwork, and community engagement initiatives that connect students to the real world.
The School of Arts and Social Sciences programs are offered at Main Campus Nkozi, Lubaga Campus, and Masaka Campus, training professionals across development studies, social work, counselling, journalism, public administration, and ethics.
