Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) participated in the 13th National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) Exhibition under the theme: Enhancement of Teaching, Learning and Assessment with ODeL in Higher Education, which began from 22nd – 24th September 2022 at Lugogo UMA Show grounds.
UMU emerged 1st Runner Up (2nd Best Exhibitor) under the main category of the Public & Private Chartered Institutions out of the 20 Universities.
While handing over the prize, the Executive Director, National Council for Higher Education, Prof. Mary J. N. Okwakol, applauded the quality of innovations that Uganda Martyrs University exhibited and urged the University to continue with its endeavors of making a difference in society.
UMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Edrin Kyamanywa has expressed joy to the UMU team that participated in the exhibition, for not coming home empty – handed.
“Thank you for keeping the UMU flag high, this is just the beginning; we hope for the best next year”, he said.
Uganda Martyrs University team was comprised of staff and students from; the School of Arts and Social Sciences (represented by Bachelor of Arts in Fashion and Textile Design); Faculty of Education (represented by Bachelor of Inclusive Deaf Education); Institute of Languages and Communication Studies (represented by Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication); Faculty of Agriculture; Faculty of the Built Environment; Faculty of Law; Faculty of Science; Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences; Archbishop Kiwanuka Memorial Library; and ICT.
The exhibition awarding criteria was divided into three categories of; Other Tertiary Institutions, Private provisional licensed institutions and the main category of Public & Private Chartered Institutions where UMU belongs.
