UMU DEDICATES ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023 TO THE LORD

Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) has today Monday, 19th September 2022 dedicated the new Academic year 2022/2023 to the Lord. The event which was held at the Main Campus Nkozi was led by the Episcopal Vicar of Mitala Maria Vicariate, Rev. Fr. Dr. Denis Kizito Ssebunya who was the Main Celebrant.

In his Homily, he reminded Management, staff and students to always appreciate the gifts of one another but also use the same gifts well, to serve the University and the Church as a whole.

“The greatest poverty of the University is when we fail to appreciate the gifts of each other,” he said. For more details of his homily, click here.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Patrick Edrin Kyamanywa in his message reminded the UMU family to always call upon the Lord in times of uncertainty, anxiety and great undertakings because with Him, nothing can go wrong.

He emphasized the need to develop the 5 Cs of; Character, Competence, Confidence, Creativity and Courage in order to succeed.

The Union President, Nsubuga Emmanuel Francis also advised his fellow students to take care of each other and behave as students of Uganda Martyrs University, study hard and take advantage of the opportunities available, for a better future.
