The Shared Heritage Africa: Rediscovering Masterpieces project hosted by the Faculty of Built Environment (FoBE) is geared to acknowledge and celebrate Uganda’s built heritage through the documentation of buildings across the country.
The project brings together experiences and expertise from across Africa and Europe to develop capacity in architectural documentation of African Architectural Heritage, which for the Faculty of Built Environment (FoBE), builds on previous work done with the Cross Cultural Foundation of Uganda.
The FoBE announces a call for applicants for its Digital Fellowships, to be undertaken over the next two years. The fellowships are open primarily to students of architecture and journalism at Masters level, and who show an interest in architectural history and heritage, but may consider honours students who show promise.
The call is open to students based in Uganda, Ghana, and Nigeria, and we hope these can be from UMU given we are hosting the project. A link to the application is provided here: https://sha. architectuul.com/
Note the closing date for applications is 15th February 2022.
