FoBE to promote sustainable urban and social development

Uganda Martyrs University Faculty of the Built Environment (FoBE) has received final approval for a project that aims at promoting sustainable urban and social development. This is in collaboration with Germany, Ghana, Nigeria and the UK and is set to kick off this month. This two year project, ‘Shared Heritage Africa: Rediscovering Masterpieces’ is spearheaded by DOCOMOMO Germany and seeks to promote sustainable urban and social development through the documentation and conservation of built cultural heritage across Africa. This project is directed at capacity building in the area of modern heritage of Africa, in line with the Twentieth-Century Historic Thematic Framework developed by the Getty Conservation Institute.
